INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR EACH CLIENT

              Step 1 of 3:  Download and Install  Firebird© onto each Client machine:

                     Install the Database Service Program Firebird.

              Step 2 of 3:  Download and Install  EasyTracking™ onto each Client machine:

                     Install the Multi-User Version of EasyTracking.

              Step 3 of 3:  From within EasyTracking™, Set/Assign Database Path on each Client machine:

                     SEE BELOW to view instructions to Assign Database Path on each CLIENT for the Multi-User Version of EasyTracking.

 INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CLIENT DATABASE PATH

To Set/Assign Database Path:

You will need to set/assign the "Database Path" on each Client machine. 

To do this, run the program CrimeFree.exe on each client, then click Sign On / System Settings.

Here's what will show up in the "Database Path" field:

PlaceServerNAMEhere:PHYSICALdriveLetterOnSERVERwhereFile_cfmain.gdb_isLocated:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime
Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

There are two steps to changing this to field to match/display the physical location of the cfmain.gdb file:

STEP 1:  Replacing "PlaceServerNAMEhere" with Actual Server Name.

     PlaceServerNAMEhere:PHYSICALdriveLetterOnSERVERwhereFile_cfmain.gdb_isLocated:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

     Simply Change "PlaceServerNAMEhere" with your Server's COMPUTER NAME (for example PD1 or PD_Server1, etc).

     The Result would be:

          PD1:PHYSICALdriveLetterOnSERVERwhereFile_cfmain.gdb_isLocated:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          or

          PD_Server1:PHYSICALdriveLetterOnSERVERwhereFile_cfmain.gdb_isLocated:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          based on the example Server Names above.

STEP 2:  Replace "PHYSICALdriveLetterOnSERVERwhereFile_cfmain.gdb_isLocated" with Physical Drive Letter on Server (C) where the file cfmain.gdb is Located on the Server.

     The Result (if you left the default location in the installation settings) would be:

          PD1:C:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          or

          PD_Server1:C:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          based on the example Server Names above.

 IF YOU INSTALLED EASYTRACKING ON YOUR SERVER'S PHYSICAL "D" OR ANY OTHER DRIVE LETTER, SIMPLY USE IT IN THE LINE ABOVE  (USE THE PHYSICAL DRIVE LETTER, NOT A MAPPED/NAMED VERSION OF THE DRIVE LETTER)  

     The Result (if you left the default location in the installation settings) BUT INSTALLED ON THE PHYSICAL "D" DRIVE would be:

          PD1:D:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          or

          PD_Server1:D:\Program Files\Dynamic Design\Crime Free\EasyTracking\Multi-User\OnServer\cfmain.gdb

          based on the example Server Names above.

Then Click "Save Changes" and then click "Test Connection" to make sure the connection can be established.
